They have a Facebook page & website. Newberry Watermelon Festival located in Newberry, FL https://www.facebook.com/#!/NewberryWatermelonFestvial  . There are nine states that hold numerous county festivals the winners from those then compete for their state and state winners compete for the national title. Festivals have sponsors and vendors of all kinds while offering free slices of watermelon, along with seed spitting and melon rolling! There nearest one to us, would be the Illiana Watermelon Association, covers Indiana and Illinois.
